Especially now, when the world around us feels deeply out of balance, it’s more important than ever to explore what true balance actually means for us.
Because here’s the thing we explored together in our latest xo Spirit School circle:
Balance is a lie that’s keeping us stuck.
That’s one of the clearest messages that came through during our recent xo Spirit School circle, inspired by the Libra Full Moon. Libra is the sign of the scales, connected to beauty, justice, relationships, and of course, balance. But when we dig deeper into what balance actually looks and feels like, we start to realize something important:
Balance is not a still point.
It’s a practice.
It’s a wobble.
Think about it: have you ever tried to stand perfectly still on a balance beam? Even the most practiced among us will wobble. There is no “arriving” at perfect balance without effort, without shift, without recalibration. Or consider a traditional set of scales: they tip, adjust, sway. That brief moment of equilibrium is always fleeting.
So what if balance isn’t about getting it right all the time?
What if wobbling is the way?
Just saying that out loud takes the pressure off. And I hope it offers you some relief too.
Our circle theme was “return to yourself.” In a world that constantly pulls us outward, into performance, perfection, productivity, it takes immense courage to come home to the truth of who you are. It’s easier to send a representative of ourselves out into the world. That way, if we’re rejected or misunderstood, we can say, “Well, that wasn’t really me anyway.”
But the real work, the healing work, is choosing to show up as you. Wobbly and all.
I was guided to lead a meditation centered around reclaiming the parts of ourselves we’ve tucked away. The versions of us who said yes when we meant no. Who smiled to keep the peace. Who played small to stay liked. This practice of calling ourselves back is akin to Shamanic soul retrieval work. It’s spiritual, yes, but also deeply human. I believe true spirituality is rooted in our human experience, not a way to escape it.
One of the cards pulled during our time together was:
“I call my power back from all times and all places. I am my own.”
It was a sacred reminder that every part of you is an expression of your soul, no matter how long it’s been hidden. Healing is wholeness. And wholeness requires self-acceptance.
We closed by anchoring into this affirmation:
“I choose peace within me, not peace at the cost of me.”
Because that’s what balance looks like now: not sacrificing ourselves for the illusion of harmony, but honoring what’s true inside us, even when it disrupts the peace around us.
Balance is not stillness.
It is aliveness.
And wobbling is not failure.
It’s feedback.
It’s movement.
It’s a sign that we’re trying.
So if you’ve been wobbling lately take it as a sign that you’re alive.
Here are messages that Spirit moved through me during our Circle. I hope they help you see things in a new way and shift the standards you hold yourself to.
On Reclaiming Wholeness:
To heal means to make whole. And the more wholeness we can find within ourselves, the less we’ll try to fill the holes with things outside of us.
On Balance:
Perfect equilibrium is perfectionism—it’s unattainable. True balance isn’t static. It’s dynamic. It’s always in motion. Just like us.
Maybe wobbling is the way. Maybe that’s what balance really is—being in relationship with the shifts, instead of resisting them.
On Authenticity:
Authenticity is letting yourself shift as you shift. It’s catching up with yourself.
It’s brave work to be yourself. It’s much easier to send a representative. But healing starts when we stop hiding and choose to return to our truth.
On Resistance as a Guide:
Our awareness knows what we’re willing and ready to receive. It chooses the path of least resistance.
Even positive change is still stress. The body may resist what the soul is ready for—and that doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. It means you’re alive.
🌑 Upcoming: xo Spirit School Circle for the New Moon in Taurus
Wednesday, April 30 · 7–8pm ET
Our next live circle will align with the New Moon in Taurus, and I’m so looking forward to it (as a Taurus sun and moon myself, you know I’ve got a soft spot for this one). The theme we’ll be working with is:
“I plant with presence, and I grow in truth.”
This circle will ground us in intentional new beginnings rooted in authenticity, not urgency. It's about tending to what’s real, not rushing to produce.
